Pastor Joe Miller
Joe serves as the Lead Pastor for the Mellinger congregation. Joe has previously served as the pastor of the Bethel Mennonite Church, Lancaster, PA and the Waterford Mennonite Church in Goshen, Ind. Before becoming a pastor, he worked as the Administrator of the Mennonite Heritage Center outside of Philadelphia. From 1984 to 1989, Joe and his family lived and studied in Budapest, Hungary where he and his wife worked as country representatives for the international relief and service organization Mennonite Central Committee. Joe was the first Westerner to be allowed by the communist government to do graduate work at the Baptista Teológiai Akadémia. He also has earned a master’s degree from Villanova University in religious studies, and received a doctorate from Grace Theological Seminary. He and his wife Julie have an adult son who is married and living in Washington D. C.

Pastor Nolan Livengood
Associate Pastor for Youth and Young Adults
Nolan serves as the Associate Pastor for Youth and Young Adults for the Mellinger Congregation. Nolan grew up in the Mellinger congregation, and is thrilled to be serving in this role. Nolan served in camp ministry for several years. He experienced a Discipleship Training School through Youth With a Mission, and more recently has graduated with a teaching degree from Millersville University. Nolan’s passion is to see others come fully alive with the goodness and Love of God. Nolan is newly married to his lovely wife, Celeste. Together they live in Lampeter area, excitedly seeking out God’s vision for their lives.
Roger Weaver serves on the preaching team for the Mellinger congregation. He works full time as a masonry estimator. He has served on several short term mission teams through Eastern Mennonite Mission and completed the STEP program offered by Lancaster Mennonite Conference. He enjoys outdoor activities, volleyball, drama (acting and writing). Roger desires to make the Bible come alive; demonstrating it to be relevant for all generations.

Matt Fahnestock Director of Music
Matt Fahnestock serves as our Director of Music at Mellinger Mennonite Church. Matt is a 2017 graduate of Messiah College’s Music and Worship Major. He also led Messiah’s summer touring Praise Team,Seven during 2017. During his college years, Matt was involved in the planning and worship on the Messiah campus. He was also a Worship Arts Intern at Grantham Brethren in Christ Church during this past year.
Matt grew up in the East Fairview Church of the Brethren and was involved in their worship during high school. Matt is committed to worship that includes all ages and all styles of worship. He is a classically trained musician with the cello as his primary instrument. He also is skilled on the acoustic guitar, piano, electric bass, and as a singer.

Leon Oberholtzer Minister of Congregational Life
Leon serves on the Congregational Life team part-time. He attended Eastern Mennonite Seminary, pastored in Tampa, FL, Steelton, PA and at Mellinger in Lancaster. He has also served as Interim Pastor in Glendale, AZ. Leon enjoys reading, walking and shepherding sheep. He enjoys relating with people through the challenges of life.

Danielle Hofstetter, Minister of Children
Danielle most recently taught and directed theater for Lancaster Mennonite High School and previously taught English at schools in Delaware and Harrisonburg, Virginia where she grew up. She served on a short term mission team to Zweibrucken, Germany through Eastern Mennonite Missions. Danielle is a graduate of Eastern Mennonite University and Mary Baldwin College where she earned English and theater degrees. She enjoys hiking with her family, playing board games, volleyball, Shakespeare, and directing. Danielle is passionate about encouraging families and fostering a nurturing environment for children to develop meaningful relationships with Jesus.

Wilmer & Doris Nolt, Deacons
Wilmer, a retired high school science teacher and Doris, a retired registered nurse, have been long-time members at Mellinger. Over the years they have been active in various leadership roles in the congregation, including Elder Council, Sunday School teaching, and Parent & Preschool program. They have recently been chosen by the Mellinger members to help meet congregational care & support needs as the deacon couple.
